2021 Folk School Instructors

Do you have a skill or craft that you would like to teach during Folklore Village’s Folk School sessions?  We are planning six sessions in 2021 – June (11, 12 & 13), July (7 – 11), August (11 – 15), September (8 – 12), October ( 6 – 10), and November (12, 13 & 14), so you can choose the very best time for your particular schedule.

Interns Needed for Summer 2021

Aslak Lie Internship:

Help us rebuild the historic Aslak Lie home.  Using primarily hand-tools from Lie’s era of building (1848), you will be instrumental in raising the second floor.  Unlike the base floor, which was dovetailed logs, the second floor is of the post and beam type of construction. Work will include finishing up the timber restoration work, erecting the walls, and preparing for the roof addition.  This is a paid internship at $10/hour.

“Folklife…Your Life” school field trip program instructors

Do you know someone who is great with elementary age kids and can teach basic folk dances, games and crafts with training? Folklore Village has openings instructors for our school field trip program, “Folklife…Your Life.” Work is temporary and seasonal, with a spring season from May to mid-June, and also a fall season in September/October. Hours are typically 8:30 AM to 1:30. Pay is between $110-$120 per day. Join a fun staff for this unique and flexible work opportunity!
