You don’t have to miss dancing while we all hunker down! Folklore Village’s June barn dance is now online, with a special English Country Dance theme!
This virtual dance will be hosted over the videoconferencing platform Zoom. You don’t need an account to join, and you can also listen in by phone.
(Amy McFarland, piano; & Maria Terres, fiddle) provide the lively, Celtic-style sounds Folklore Villagers know and love. Their music has often been described as “way more sound than we ever though two instruments could make,” and they live up to that by having produced a variety of tunes especially for the Virtual Country Dancing event! Featured music will include English Country Dance tunes and also a number of couple dances to keep you entertained and dancing the whole night through.
Caller Sue Dupre
makes her Folklore Village debut with a selection of dances specially tailored to one or two people. Sue hails from New Jersey and has been calling English country dances for over 35 years. She has been a featured performer at various festivals and dance weekends across the country. Sue is known for enthusiasm and good humor, and for an extensive repertoire representing the best of the old and the new, the classic and the modern…even helping us bring ECD into the digital age!
Come for the dancing and music, and stay for a virtual English Tea interlude! When you register, you’ll get a link to access the dance as well as a video of Sue Dupre’s dance “Two Abbesses” and to a recipe to make and enjoy during the evening’s English Tea!
