Alejandro Brittes interprets chamamé, a music and dance genre forged of Baroque and Indigenous Guaraní influences in the Jesuit Missions of southern South America. Chamamé has been declared as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Brazil-based Argentine composer and accordionist Alejandro Brittes explores his chamamé heritage. Brittes recently toured the U.S. in 2024 being featured at Stanford Live, TOArts, Music in Corrales, San José Jazz, etc. The ensemble also does multilingual community outreach, masterclasses, etc.
