Date: Sunday, September 25, 2022; 9 am – 2 pm, with a one hour break for potluck lunch from 12 – 1

Skill Level: All levels welcome, as long as you are comfortable learning tunes by ear on your instrument.

Here’s a remarkable opportunity, and an added bonus to your concert travels!

Members of Dalakopa will share tunes from the Dalakopa repertoire. Dalakopa tunes are very accessible and not difficult to learn to play. We will first focus on getting the music comfortably in our heads and fingers and bodies.

An initial dividing up into smaller groups (fiddles and flutes; accordions; bass/guitar) gives the opportunity to work on the way the fiddles play the melodies and harmonies, the roles of accordions in this wonderful band, and the important dance rhythm support of bass and guitars.

In the second part of the morning, we will help you release the tunes from your instrument, and make them danceable with the Dalakopa spirit, coming together to play in one large group.  After potluck lunch, there will be a farewell “Allspell” for an hour.
