A Day of Painting at Folklore Village with Judy Robb


Let’s spend a day together, painting the gorgeous surroundings of Folklore Village!

Skill Level: Adults, late teens

Class Registration Fee:  Early bird – by August 20, 2021: $80.00

After August 20, 2021: $90.00

“En plein air” is a French expression that means “in the open air.”  It is used by artists to describe the art of outdoor painting, capturing landscapes and views in natural light.  These plein air painting techniques apply to both oil painting and watercolor. The Folklore Village grounds are a perfect place for this type of painting.

So, let’s spend a day together, painting Folklore Village!

Materials fee: (Paid directly to instructor during class): none

Students need to bring the following supplies

Students will need to provide their  own materials / mediums of their choice. This will include an easel or small portable table, portable chair or stool, drawing paper or canvas, pastels, charcoal and / or oil or watercolor paint.

Students will be provided with a suggested materials list following registration.

Judy Robb is an American artist whose work is representative of daily life in rural Black Earth, Wisconsin and beyond.  In the Alla Prima style, her paintings represent the things that inspire and convey emotions – landscapes, woodlands, flowers, fields. and people – past and present.  Judy paints what she finds as inspiration based on the season and the day – the everyday things that comprise her life in the beautiful Driftless region of south-central Wisconsin.

Judy has an MS in Computer Science: Human-Computer Interaction, and has worked extensively with world-renowned museums as a creative director and a technologist.
