Nuno felting utilizes animal fibers and a sheer, open-weave fabric like silk, to create a new material.

In this 6-hour workshop, we will complete a scarf with merino wool and silk using the wet felting technique. We will discuss the history and uses of felt, explain the types of felting and complete a hands-on wet felting project of a soft and distinctive scarf.

Students will need to bring the following supplies:

  • 3 large old towels
  • Apron
  • Plastic bag (grocery or trash bag size)
  • Paper/pencil
  • Snacks & drinks (coffee, tea, and water provided)
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothes

Jennifer Angelo has been felting for ten years. Her fiber study began when she lived in New Zealand and discovered many of her neighbors raised sheep.  She has studied various felting techniques with local and international fiber artists. She also is a founding member of the Madison Felters’ Guild. https://www.jangelo.com/
