Ink and wash is a simple way to create scenes – especially fun at Christmas time for ornaments or other holiday decorations. In this class, You will be incorporating ink and wash scenes with a rosemaling border.  This mixes tradition with a more contemporary style of painting.

The instructor will be using acrylic paints.  If you would prefer painting with oils, please bring the paints and mediums necessary.

Students need to bring the following supplies: Paper towels: For acrylics, a water container, For oils: a container for your oil palette and small containers for mediums and brush cleaner:  For both, a palette which could be Styrofoam trays or plates, a pencil, an eraser

Lois Mueller has been rosemaling since 1977 and teaching since 1979.  She received a Gold Medal for rosemaling in 1998.  Since that time she has written 9 rosemaling instruction books.  She has traveled to Canada, Taiwan and throughout the US to teach this wonderful folk art.  Recently she assisted in founding a new organization, Rosemaling Coast to Coast.  The organization will be holding a convention in 2021 of which she is chairman. The convention will be in Eau Claire, WI providing Covid allows it.
