Date: July 8 & 9, 2023
9 am – 4 pm each day
Skill Level: Beginning to advanced
Class Registration Fee: Early bird – by June 19, 2023: $160.00
After June 19, 2021: $175.00
We will use a simple ink and wash technique to create a traditional scene of how the Norwegians fed the birds in the winter. We will also use easy rosemaling designs to decorate ornaments.
The instructor will be using acrylic paints. If you would prefer painting with oils, please bring the paints and mediums that are needed.
Students need to bring the following supplies:
For acrylics, a water container;
For oils: a container for your oil palette and small containers for mediums and brush cleaner;
For both, paper towels, a palette – which could be a Styrofoam tray or plate; And a pencil and eraser would be helpful.
Materials fee: ( Paid directly to instructor during class): $33.

Lois Mueller has been rosemaling since 1977 and teaching since 1979. She received a Gold Medal for rosemaling in 1998. Since that time she has written 9 rosemaling instruction books. She has traveled to Canada, Taiwan and throughout the US to teach this wonderful folk art. Recently she assisted in founding a new organization, Rosemaling Coast to Coast. The organization will be holding a convention in 2023 of which she is chairman.
