A community-centered day of summertime fun

Welcome to the first annual Summer Sociable at Folklore Village!

Folklore Village is excited to introduce the Summer Sociable, a relaxed and welcoming open house meant to reconnect neighbors, friends, and visitors with the heart of our campus. This new summertime tradition invites people of all ages to exlore, engage, and experience the everyday magic that defines Folklore Village.

This drop-in event will feature lawn games, hands-on craft activities, demonstrations, a musicians jam, and opportunities to learn about Folklore Village’s history and programs. Whether wandering at your own pace, meeting volunteers and tradition‑bearers, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, the Summer Sociable will offer a warm, inviting snapshot of our cultural and mission.

June 27 | 5 – 8pm

After an afternoon of fun exploring Folklore Village’s campus and enjoying nature hikes, lawn games, and folk music, join us for evening potluck and barn dance. All ages and dance abilities are welcome–from those who have danced for years, to those who have never set foot on the dance floor! Live music by The Old Grey Cats and dance calling by Sue Hulsether!
