Drop in for fun, hands-on, and folksy activities for the whole family! Family Thursdays are held throughout Iowa and Dane Counties, with some taking place at Folklore Village and others at local community partner locations. Come make, dance, sing, and play!

Old-Time Games
Let’s play! Join Folklore Village and the Barneveld Public Library for an afternoon of traditional games passed down through the generations. We’ll learn fun games inspired by classics like tag and music chairs, explore the secrets of a magic broom, try to make each other laugh with tongue twisters and tricks, and much more. These games are fun for kids of all ages (and their adults!). Come ready to laugh, smile, and play!

Wool Felting Fun
Learn to make felt with Folklore Village! With a handful of wool, a bowl of soapy slime, and lots of elbow grease you’ll create a felted wool ball or any other shapes or creations you can imagine. Roll up your sleeves for a wet and woolly experience!
